Hello Church,
It’s nearing the end of the day and I am finally able to sit down and write my email to you all. For some reason the mornings go so quickly around church and then before I know it, it’s 4pm! I’ve enjoyed watching the snow fall outside and am amazed that another season is starting to wind down. There is a lot of information in today’s email. So please make sure you read all of it and sign-up for what you are able to.
First, next Sunday is the First Sunday of Advent. We will be having a guest speaker from NEOCH. Angelo will be sharing some of his story and the work that NEOCH does. He will also be selling the Street Chronicles, if you are interested in purchasing the paper please let Charlie know this week so he can let Angelo know. We look forward to welcoming Angelo and hearing more from him on Sunday November 29th!
This then leads me to my first ask, I am in need of FIVE families or individuals that will light our Advent Wreath this year. While you will not be lighting it in church, I will be providing to each family or individual that signs up their own mini Advent Wreath. My aunt has donated the wreaths and I have put together the candles and all you could possibly need to decorate it. Please fill out the form that is linked above or below and I will then contact you on how to get the Advent Wreath to you. And since this will be done in your own home, that means anyone can participate! Live out of state but want to light the Advent Wreath one week? Sign up and I will ship the supplies to you!
The Fourth Sunday of Advent we will be celebrating Communion. I have gotten pre-filled communion cups that will be available for pick up at the church or to have delivered to you if you are unable to come up to the church. Please fill out this form linked if you would like to have someone bring the communion to your home, socially distanced of course! Communion will be available to be picked up from church starting December 10th, there will be a table near the Ramp Door entrance with the communion cups in baggies, please take what you need for your family. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to reach out to me.
Christmas Eve will be at 6pm on Zoom. More details will be coming in the coming weeks about how we will be celebrating the birth of Jesus.
December 27th will be a Sunday of Lessons and Carols. This will also be at Zoom at our normal worship time of 10:30am. Look out for more information about this service next week!
Purchasing of Poinsettias for the Christmas Eve service will still be happening! Look for an email about this tomorrow.
We also need volunteers to help make sandwiches for Luke 3:11, if you have helped before and would like to again or if you never have and would like to, please reach out to Joyce Roper.
Scriptures for this week: Ezekiel 34:11-16,20-24, Ephesians 1:15-23, Matthew 25:31-46
Our prayer for this week, is again from the Book of Common Prayer:
Thank you, Lord, for the many ways you watch over and protect us in the course of the day. As you shelter us, show us also how to provide physical and spiritual shelter for those we encounter today and this week. Amen.
Â
May this week land gently on you all.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Megan
