Hello Church!

It is a beautiful day here in Cleveland Heights! As a reminder, we spring forward this weekend. Don’t forget to change your clocks Saturday night when you go to bed. Today and the next few days look like they will be gorgeous here in Northeast Ohio! Get out and enjoy these next few days, spring is slowly getting closer.
Holy Week bags are all ready to be picked up! Our last boxes of goodies for the bags arrived yesterday! You are welcome to come this afternoon to start picking them up or come tomorrow. The only thing that you will need to add to your bag is your communion. You will need communion for Maundy Thursday and Easter Sunday (I will have a note near the basket to remind you). If you are unable to come and pick up your bag, please reach out to me so I can arrange to have someone bring it to you.
Plans are being started for Holy Week services, pay attention to this space for updates on those services. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday will be both at 7pm on Zoom and Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday will both be at 10:30am on Zoom as well.
If you would like to buy flowers that will be in our sanctuary for Easter, please see the attached form and get it back to Vivian at church by Friday March 19th.
This coming Sunday we will have a Service of Healing. Next Monday is the one year anniversary of the start of the stay at home orders and churches buildings closing. I hope that Sunday’s service will be a time of reflection, healing and hope. As we look at the past year and look ahead to what is still to come. The service will be a little different than our traditional Sunday service, but one that I hope will create space for us all to grieve this past year.
Scriptures for this week are: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, Psalm 23, Matthew 5:1-12, Matthew 5:13-16
Our prayer comes from Mitchell’s Presbyterian Church:
God of heaven and earth,
I listen this morning for the sounds of your glory:
in the songs of birds,
in quiet conversations beginning the day,
in sunlight’s warmth,
in pattering rain or nearly silent snowfall.
Give me ears to hear your glory in its many forms.
Give me eyes to see your glory in its many faces.
May I be part of the chorus of praise
that stretches to the ends of the earth.  Amen.
Children’s Book from Sunday: A Very Big Problem by Amy-Jill Levine & Sandy Eisenberg Sasso Illustrated by Annie Bowler
May this week land gently on you all.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Megan
