Hello Redeemer,
Spring is officially here! Windows are open in my office at church, the little ones from the preschool are running up and down the hill and the sounds of leaf blowers can be heard in the distance. The weather is getting nicer and the days are getting longer. I love watching the blooms and buds change on the trees and in the ground. I can’t wait for the trees to come back to life outside the office!
Not many updates this week, but several reminders for you all.
Holy Week starts on Sunday with Palm Sunday. We will be meeting over Zoom at 10:30am on Sunday, the palm crosses in your Holy Week bags are the perfect addition to your Sunday worship. We will gather again on Maundy Thursday (4/1) at 7pm we will share in communion together. There are pre-filled cups outside my office door or your own bread and juice can also be used, what is important is that we share in this meal together. On Good Friday we will meet once again on Zoom at 7pm to hear the familiar story of Jesus’s betrayal, trial, and crucifixion. On both. Thursday and Friday, once our last song is finished so is our time together, I will end our worship time by ending the meeting.
Easter Sunday, we will meet over Zoom at 10:30am, gathering time will start at 10:20am with Shanelle starting our prelude a little before 10:30am. We will again celebrate communion together and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our Alleluia sign will be brought back into the sanctuary and our time of worship will begin. I have also included in this email a chance for you to color your own Alleluia to share! Attached you will find the instructions on how to put your Alleluia poster together. Feel free to put them in your windows and send me the picture and I’ll share them with the congregation!
I hope you are able to find some time this week to go outside and enjoy the sunshine!
Scriptures for Sunday: Isaiah 50:4-9a, Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29 and Mark 11:1-11
Our prayer for the week:
Loving God, you offer the gift of new life each day.
Open my heart to receive this grace
that I may be wholly yours;
then give me the courage to share this gift
wherever I go
as I seek to walk in your way of mercy,
forgiveness, and newness of life. Amen.
May the rest of your week land gently.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Megan
