Hello Church,
It is a muggy, humid day here in Cleveland Heights! It feels more like the middle of August than the second week of June! I hope you all are staying cool!
It was so great to see so many of you in person on Sunday! Finally being able to meet so many of you did my heart so good! And for those that joined us on Zoom, I am so sorry there were sound issues. Technology is great, but can also be challenging when we are trying something new. My hope is that each week gets a little better and that we have minimal issues moving forward. As always, thank you for your patience with all that we are trying to do to make worship special for everyone that comes.
We will again be meeting in person and online this Sunday. Again, coffee hour will be outside afterwards. If you have a chair please bring it, if not, we will have a few chairs for those that need them. Lemonade will be served in the kitchenette area and then we ask that you move outside to have fellowship together.
Next Wednesday starts the East Ohio Annual Conference. Everything will be livestreamed from the East Ohio Website.
There are some opportunities for being involved in our worship services. I am looking for greeters to welcome people in, help them sign in and take temperatures. If you would like to help out, please either let myself or Vivian know. Cameron Jones is also looking for someone to learn how to run the technology that is needed to be done each Sunday. If you are interested in learning, please reach out to him.
An update on our sister Kate Klaber. She has been taken off her tube, but is still unable to talk as having the tube took her voice from her. She is comfortable and has made a turn in a positive direction. Continue to keep Kate, Steve and the whole family in your prayers as she continues to heal.
Our scriptures for Sunday are: 2 Corinthians 5:6-17 and Mark 4:26-34
Our prayer for the week comes from the book Prayers for an Inclusive Church
Lord of the misfit,
whose prophets came
like weeds to an ordered garden,
shaking all that deadens your love:
give us faith in your kingdom’s growth,
unruly and exuberant
and let it be a shelter
wide enough for all;
through Jesus Christ, our teacher.
Amen
May the rest of this week land gently on you all.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Megan
