Hello church,

We are officially in the second week of February and it seems like the month is almost over, but we still have so much of the month left! But why does February always seem to go quicker than the other months?
This Sunday we will be celebrating Jazz Sunday. Kenny Bowman will be providing some special music for us and we will have some other traditions and some new celebrations for the day. During coffee hour we will find out who will be the keeper of our Alleluia. So make sure you have a sweet treat to enjoy with us during that time!
Next Wednesday will begin the season of Lent with our Ash Wednesday service. We will gather on Zoom at 7pm. Please either have your Lent Devotion bag with you, or your own bread and juice as we will be sharing in communion together. There will be no coffee hour after the service, once Shanelle is done playing her postlude I will end our meeting.
On Sunday February 21st, Kari Queen will be sharing a message with us. I am excited to hear her preach and hear what she has to share with us all!
You can still pick up your Lent Devotional Bags at the church. If you are unable to come up to the church, please let me know and I will bring it out to you next Tuesday. Bags are in a basket on the table next to my office.
Our scriptures for this week are: 2 Kings 2:1-12, 2 Corinthians 4:3-6, and Mark 9:2-9
Our children’s book for this Sunday: The Youngest Marcher
Our prayer for this week comes from Ruth C. Duck
O Spirit that flows through all life, you were powerfully
present in the life and ministry of Jesus.
Yet many of his contemporaries were looking for something more
dramatic, someone less simple.
Like them, we do not always recognize your presence.
Give us spirits that respond to your Spirit
as an instrument resounds to
a musician’s touch,
that we may glorify your name
in Christ Jesus.
Amen.
May the rest of the week land gently on you all.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Megan
