Good Sunny Afternoon Church!

The sun is shining, my windows are open at church and it feels like spring might finally be here! It has been another day of listening to the preschoolers play on the hill by the office. In the days that I have been able to have my windows open, I have learned many things from them:
  1. Dragons are real, adults just can’t see them
  2. We have a magic jungle next to the building (the big bush by the sanctuary)
  3. There are a lot of princesses and pirates that attend the school
It is such a joy to hear little voices and the ways that they play make believe!
A few reminders for this coming week: Sunday we will be sharing in communion. Pre-filled cups are outside my office door if you need them. Vivian will be off on Thursday 4/29 and Friday 4/30, which means our church office will be closed. If you need to drop something off for her please do so by Wednesday at 6pm. I will be available by phone and email both of those days if you need anything. Our church office will open again on Monday May 3rd at 2pm.
If you would like to join our Bell Choir, please email Shanelle so she can start planning a rehearsal time and get music ready. Our hope is that we will have a Bell Choir on Pentecost which is May 23rd.
Reconciling Sunday will be June 6th. And will also kick off Pride Month! Stay tuned for more information about how we will be celebrating!
Our Scripture for the week is: John 15:1-8 and 1 John 4:4-21
Our prayer for the week is from Prayers for an Inclusive Church by Steven Shakespeare
God of deep soil
and luxuriant growth;
you call us from
our shallow selves
to find our depth in you:
may we abide in him alone
who can teach us who we are;
through Jesus Christ, the true vine.
Amen.
May this week land gently on you all and you are able to enjoy this beautiful weather.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Megan
